No partner? No problem, old bean.
Lindy Hop is the partnered swing dance born in the ballrooms of Harlem and danced to big-band jazz. It is still danced every week up and down the country, from church halls to cinema bars, and this paper exists to tell you where.
Most classes rotate partners every few minutes, so newcomers arrive alone and leave with a dozen dances behind them. See your first class.
Where to begin
A beginners' class early in the evening, a social dance after it, and shoes that turn on a wooden floor: that is the whole recipe. The beginners' page lists every class that welcomes complete newcomers.
Every listing checked
Each listing has been checked against the organiser's own website. Where a time could not be confirmed we say so plainly, rather than print a guess. Run a class? Send your details – listings are free.
