About Jump Jive 'n' Wail
Jump Jive 'n' Wail are a six-piece swing and jive band from Halifax who say they play all the good tunes of the 1930s, 40s and 50s. By their own account they have been together for fifteen years, which in band terms makes them veterans of the Pennine circuit. Their Bandcamp page pitches them squarely at dancers: they list 40s events and weekends, jive and Lindy Hop dances, vintage weddings and private functions among the things they play for. The set leans towards the cheerful end of the jump blues and swing songbook; two of the tracks on their page are 'Bring Me Sunshine' and 'Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens', which tells you most of what you need to know about the mood. A sensible choice for a northern class social or a vintage-flavoured party that needs a live band with a proven dance floor habit.
