Al Minns and Leon James Lindy Hopping
Al Minns and Leon James, the pair who danced as Al and Leon and who were among the Savoy generation of Lindy Hop dancers. They are remembered for keeping the older Harlem style alive and for passing it on to students in later decades, helping set the stage for the swing revival. Watch the comfortable partnership, the loose Charleston-style footwork and the humour. A valuable record of the vintage vocabulary being danced by those who grew up with it.
