About Elise Roth & Her Harvard Squares
Singer Elise Roth was born in New York, raised in London and trained as an operatic soprano in Boston, and after years splitting her time between the US and the UK she settled permanently in London in 2020. She has been a working musician since 2014 and has twice toured as guest vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
She leads two bands. Elise Roth & Her Harvard Squares is a mid-sized big band that specialises in 1930s and 40s swing for dancers, with original tunes and arrangements of its own. Elise Roth & Her High Standards plays 1920s and 30s hot jazz and early swing for a Gatsby-style party. The Harvard Squares were among the evening bands at South London SwingFest in August 2026, and Elise also appears at London venues such as Jamboree and the Candlelight Club.
