About Simon 'Mr Kicks' Selmon
Simon Selmon, known on the circuit as Mr Kicks, describes himself as one of the UK's most popular and experienced vintage dance DJs. He founded SwingdanceUK, which runs classes, workshops, social dances and events across London and the UK, covering Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Shag and Rock 'n' Roll. His sets draw on a large collection of vintage music, including many original 78s digitised for modern DJing, and he also plays modern swing and electro swing when the crowd is younger. He mentions festivals, corporate and private parties and weddings alongside the dance nights. Regular events he names include Stompin' at the 100 Club, Swing Out at London Wonderground, and the monthly Swing Time and Some Like It Swing parties at the Genesis Cinema.
