About Blues at the 'Bridge (Cambridge)

Blues at the 'Bridge is Cambridge Swing Dance's blues weekender, billed on its own page as a cosy blues festival. The only edition described there is the 2024 announcement, which promised three nights of live music, seven hours of classes and a roast dinner. German teacher Annette Kuehnle was to lead the dance classes, and Dr Tom Attah headlined the Saturday night and also gave a Saturday lunchtime lecture on the history of the blues. A silent disco gave fusion dancers somewhere to keep going alongside the blues. It suits blues dancers who like a small, friendly weekend where the music and the history count as much as the classes. The page gives no venue, price or booking details, and says more would follow on the website and social media.

What to expect

The festival page is the 2024 announcement, with tickets then due to be released in January 2024. It lists no price, venue or accommodation advice. The organiser's events page and social media are where later editions are announced, so check there for current dates before planning a trip.

New to festivals?

Most UK weekenders welcome improvers and up, and many add a taster or beginners' track – check the organiser's page. Our guide to swing festivals covers passes, tracks and what to pack.
