About CSD Fest (CheltenhamSwing.Dance Festival)

CSD Fest is the annual festival run by CheltenhamSwing.Dance at Cheltenham Town Hall. The 2027 edition is on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March. The town hall offers a large main hall with a sprung floor plus the Pillar Room and Drawing Room, so three classes can run at once, along with a cafe and two bars. There are up to 10 hours of classes across the two days, from improver to advanced, and you can pick Lindy Hop, Shag or a mix. 2027 teachers include Jenny Thomas, Gabs Novellino and Sonnie Spoon for Lindy Hop, Jim and Nicky for Collegiate Shag, Immy Black and Norm Wakeman for Collegiate and St Louis Shag, and Sean Moon. Saturday night has a dance from 19.45 with Tommy Blaize and his swing band, then a silent disco afterparty until midnight. Sunday is a tea dance from 15.00 to 17.30 with tea and cake. It suits improvers and above who want a compact, friendly festival. The page links a newcomers section for people new to swing, but the festival classes themselves start at improver level.

What to expect

Places are by application, in date order, and a place is only confirmed once it is offered and paid for. Waiting lists for leaders and followers pair up single bookers. The cheapest tiers have already sold out. The full weekend costs GBP 110, 135 or 145 depending on tier. A social pass for the dances only is GBP 30, and tea dance entry on the door is GBP 12. One-day weekend tickets are not available.
